| Storage conditions | 1. Storage tanks, pipelines, and related equipment for anhydrous isopropanol can be made of carbon steel, but measures should be taken to prevent moisture absorption. Hydrous isopropanol must be handled in appropriately lined or stainless steel containers or equipment to prevent corrosion. The pumps used for handling isopropanol are preferably automatically controlled centrifugal pumps equipped with explosion-proof motors. Transportation can be done in tank trucks, train tank cars, 200L (53µg) iron drums, or smaller containers. The outer walls of transport containers should be marked indicating that it is a flammable liquid. 2. Storage Precautions: Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 37°C. Keep containers sealed. Store separately from oxidizers, acids, halogens, etc., and never mix them. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Do not use machinery or tools that may generate sparks. The storage area should be equipped with spill response equipment and suitable containment materials. |
