Microsilica
Microsilica / Silica Fume
CAS No.: 69012-64-2
Main Component: Amorphous silica (SiO₂)
Content typically ≥85%~98%
Source: Ultrafine dust recovered during industrial silicon or ferrosilicon alloy smelting
Particle Size: Extremely fine, 0.1~0.3 μm, approximately 100 times finer than cement
Appearance: Gray or off-white powder
Applications of microsilica
1. Concrete and Construction Engineering (Most Mainstream)
High-strength/High-performance Concrete: Improves strength, density, and impermeability.
Marine/Port/Tunnel Concrete: Enhances resistance to chloride ions and corrosion.
Hydraulic Dams, Bridges, and High-speed Railway Projects: Enhances durability and freeze-thaw resistance.
Self-leveling Concrete and Shotcrete: Improves fluidity and reduces rebound.
2. Refractory Materials Industry
Used in monolithic refractories, castables, and precast components.
Improves high-temperature strength, erosion resistance, spalling resistance, and high-temperature corrosion resistance.
Widely used in blast furnaces, electric furnaces, kilns, and metallurgical linings.
3. Building Materials and Mortar
High-strength cement-based grouting materials, repair mortars, and floor mortars.
Improves early strength, wear resistance, crack resistance, and impermeability.
